In addition to local projects, we also take on select design projects outside of our geographical area. When accurate drawings are available, our team is able to provide full design packages including space planning, material finishes and furnishings remotely. We’ve successfully completed full-home projects in Nova Scotia, Barbados, Italy and Portugal.

OUR PROCESS

Complete the online questionnaire telling us about your project scope, existing images, and describe how you’d like to live in your space.  Our team will reach out to you within 2-3 business days to go over how we can tailor a package best suited to achieve your needs.

Within a 1.5 to 2-hour session in your home, you will share your lifestyle, preferences, priorities, budget, and inspirational images guiding the direction for your space. We take meticulous measurements to ensure only the best scaled furniture selections for a distinctly tailored design.

We set a date 2-3 weeks from the consultation, inviting you into our showroom for your curated presentation- allowing you the opportunity to touch and see our recommendations in person. We review thoughtfully drafted floor plan layouts, furnishings and fabric/material options that best align with your overall vision and lifestyle. At the end of this 1-2hr meeting you will have a honed-in vision of what you can expect your home to soon look like.

From the selections solidified at your presentation, we email you a digital copy of your presentation file along with the coordinating itemized pricing proposal. Your satisfaction and clarity are our priorities as we progress towards bringing your vision to life. If your project is renovation based, we will have a comprehensive design package noting all the details for the contractor to quote and begin construction. 

Our warehouse accumulates all pieces and our Service Team will coordinate your delivery in advance to facilitate a seamless, one-time delivery and installation experience. A designated designer is on-site to oversee the precise placement of every element along with our team to hang any drapery & art ensuring a completed home ready to enjoy!

DESIGN FAQ’S

Design fees at Niche Decor are based on the scope and complexity of each project. Most room-based projects require between 10–15 design hours, with fees typically ranging from $1,950–$2,925.

Prior to moving forward, we clearly outline the anticipated scope and estimated hours so expectations are aligned from the beginning.

We schedule consultations 2-3 weeks in advance and a presentation date is set 2-3 weeks after this initial meeting. At the time of your order finalization, production of furniture typically takes 8-12 weeks. Our dedicated Service Team closely monitors the progress to facilitate a seamless, one-time delivery experience. We’ll proactively reach out to you in advance to coordinate your installation date.

The products we recommend on your project can be found in our showroom because these are our true, tried, and tested staples that we fully stand behind for your everyday living. At our design studio, we have an extensive, private fabric/material resource library and source from our industry exclusive suppliers, along with reputable local manufacturers to create customized pieces tailored for your space.

From the outset we are here to help guide your decisions aligning your priorities, budget, and vision for a seamless process. Transparency of your budget is the most efficient & effective use of our design services for us to create tailored solutions within your financial expectations upfront leaving no room for potential disappointment or having to compromise on key elements.

Our furnishings design is fully integrated into our full-service process. We do not provide furniture plans, specifications, or sizing for client-directed purchasing.

The furnishings we design and specify are made-to-order and highly customizable, selected specifically for the scale, proportion, materials, and functionality of your space. We source from an extensive network of trade-only manufacturers and artisans, meaning the pieces we specify are not available through retail channels and cannot be replicated independently.

This approach ensures a cohesive, tailored result and allows us to stand behind the quality and integrity of the finished space.

Niche Decor is a design firm by origin, with over 30 years of experience curating timeless, personalized interiors. While our designer showroom showcases furnishings and materials, our primary offering is professional design expertise — not complimentary furniture packages.

Our team of formally trained designers approaches each project holistically. We don’t simply sell furniture; we design the space itself. This often includes architectural details such as feature walls, wallpaper selections, lighting enhancements, material coordination, and furnishings sourced from our exclusive designer resource library.

Our goal is to create spaces that reflect how our clients live and feel — thoughtfully designed and fully realized from concept to completion.

Due to our current workload and in order to maintain thoughtful timelines and the level of care our projects require, we are currently accepting full-scope design projects with a minimum commitment of 10-15 design hours.

We do not offer hourly or stand-alone consultations. Our work is rooted in full-service design, where we guide projects holistically from concept through completion.

We offer flexible packages based on project scope and encourage you to complete our Design Questionnaire so we can learn more about your project and determine the best way to move forward together.

Yes. Over our 30 years in the design industry, we’ve built strong relationships with skilled craftsmen and trusted contractors who share our standards for quality and attention to detail.

Depending on your project, we can recommend the appropriate trades and contractors. If you already have your own team in place, we’re happy to collaborate and will provide a detailed design package for your trades and contractor to execute accurately.

Project management is offered as an additional service to provide flexibility based on your project needs and desired level of involvement.

When retained for project management, we act as your advocate and point of contact — coordinating with contractors and trades, managing on-site details, assisting with permits when required, and addressing issues as they arise. This added layer of involvement helps keep projects on track, minimizes delays, and ensures the design intent is carried through to completion.

Our goal is always a seamless, well-managed experience from start to finish.
