Niche Decor is a full-service design firm with a beautifully curated showroom in Newmarket, Ontario featuring the latest and best in home décor and furnishings. The original Niche Decor first opened in 1994 in Richmond Hill where owner, Jean Bisnaire focused on creating custom, quality furnishings for his clients. Throughout the years, Jean has expanded his showroom with relocating to a larger showroom and has a design team in place to offer services for those in need of assistance. Joining the team over 15 years ago, partner Shima Yazdan works alongside Jean by taking a hands on approach with their design clients as well as their showroom selection. They are blessed to work with a talented team of designers as well as warehouse staff that executes each project and sees them through to completion. Meet The Team

Jean Bisnaire

Niche Decor’s owner, creative director, and senior designer, Jean creates timeless spaces that provide innovative solutions to various client needs. Being in the industry for over 30 years now his portfolio shows a great range of residential to commercial projects. Whether you are looking to build a home from the blueprint stage or take your existing space from out-dated to outstanding, Jean is who you want to connect with to get the job done right the first time.

Jean’s design philosophy of casual living is evident in all his work as well as the product selection displayed in our showroom. He has an uncanny ability to envision a space at its full potential and turn houses into homes.

Shima Yazdan

Co-owner and our VP of Operations, Shima’s expertise and industry knowledge is instantly recognized upon meeting her. She travels alongside Jean as a buyer to domestic and international trade shows and having been with the company for over 15 years now she’s got a pulse on what our clients want. Her style and eye for design can be seen through our social media sites as she shares with our followers showroom products, behind the scenes of our projects coming together and of course our completed design work.

Amanda Scarlato

With her Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design and education in Psychology, Amanda brings a human element to her design projects. She takes careful consideration in how our clients use their space and brings it to life through product and textile selections.

She enjoys immersing herself in all aspects of Design, whether it’s attending trade shows, working on design projects or creating new showroom vignettes.

Carina Redigonda

Carina originally joined our team as an intern before graduating with an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from Sheridan College and becoming a full-time member of the Niche Decor family!

With a love for visually creating stories, an admiration for unique fabrics, and treasuring the beauty of the design industry, Carina brings passion and a fresh point of view to the team. Using art history and classic, high-quality design, Carina’s focus is on improving wellbeing through carefully curated spaces.

Claire Ducatel

With a background in marketing and an education in interior decorating, Claire comes to Niche Decor to begin her venture into the interior design industry. Her friendly approach helps her connect with her clients and help them choose the right pieces for their home. When she’s not in the showroom, she is using her creative expertise to help with the company’s marketing projects.

Peter Holung

Peter comes to us with over 20 years of customer service experience and has been running the warehouse operations close to 10 years now! His calm demeanor and kind personality makes him the perfect part of our team. He strives to ensure customer satisfaction by providing on-call product assembly, repairs, and display assistance.

Deron Bowdery

With over 20 years’ experience in warehousing and logistics management, Deron has been an integral addition to the Niche Decor Team. He is easy going and leads by example; treating customers and coworkers with kindness and respect. Whether he is scheduling deliveries, staging the showroom, assembling products or assisting with installations, he does so with the greatest attention to detail ensuring optimal customer satisfaction. He enjoys meeting new people every day and helping them to achieve their goals of creating the perfect living space.

Farnaz Asadi

With over 12 years of customer care experience and 8 years in administration, Farnaz is driven to give the best possible post-purchase experience to each and every person. As our main point of contact with clients, she provides updates, coordinates deliveries, and offers full customer care with professionalism and genuine care and regard.
